The Sleep Mission

Beds #62, #63, #64, #65
I love the season that we are approaching. The sun is shining, rubber boots come out, and the puddle jumping begins. ðĶ Spring is just around the corner! My brother and I used to love to swim in ditches and play in the culverts. This activity, along with many other questionable/life threatening forms of entertainment kept our Mother in panic mode during our entire childhood. Now, as a parent myself, I have to disclose that not much has changed. We still swim in ditches, just with parental supervision. ðĪŠ
20 some years later and I still get excited about that running water!
But what's even more exciting about this season (actually the most exciting) is the coming of Easter. The bunny is pretty great and egg hunts are fun, but as a family with faith, these holidays mean so much more. We have a deep appreciation for this holiday as our lives depend on it. This holiday created a bridge for us. For some, what would believe to be the end of their life, is just the beginning of mine. âïļ
As Easter was quickly approaching, our family wanted to make sure that we incorporated a bed donation as our almsgiving portion of Lent. As of today, 4 more children are now the proud owners of their very own beds & bibles! ðððð We sleep very soundly knowing 4 more kids are up, off the floor.
We pray that this act of love could be those children's invitation to knowing God. To give, truly is to recieve. ðĨ°
This bed setup was a large group effort! Seriously though, the biggest group effort to date. I've said it once, I'll say it again- it takes a village! Let me rephrase that, "It takes a class!"
Mrs. Alde's Grade 9 class at St. Mary Beaverlodge school donated the funds which covered the cost of 4, brand new mattresses!!!ðĨ°ðĨ°ðĨ°
Sherri and Alan Wenzel donated the bedding. ð
Kody and I donated the bed frames and and our kids paid for the pillows from their piggy banks.
Laurie & David Sandboe donated the children's bibles, and one for mom too!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. ðĐ·
Have a blessed Easter Holiday!
