Not the typical job we’d take on, simply because of the amount of time involved. But there was a desire to help this family out, so I reached out to a few friends to see if anyone was willing to tackle it. Thankfully, one of them stepped up without hesitation.
This is no small undertaking. It’s still in the disassembly stage, but it’s incredible to see a vehicle stripped down to this extent. It reminds me of surgery—knowing exactly what to remove, what to leave untouched, and carefully working through each step with precision.
My friend is definitely a skilled auto surgeon, and it’s been impressive to watch the craftsmanship that goes into a job like this. Looking forward to seeing it all come back together.

One of the things I enjoy most about working in the shop is that we’re not always limited to the “replace the part and move on” approach. Sometimes a little extra time and care can save someone a significant expense.
This wiper motor was blowing fuses and stuck halfway across the rear window. In many shops, the solution would simply be to replace the motor—a reality when the labour involved costs more than the part itself. But because we’re not restrained by that model, I took it apart, found the seized components, cleaned and freed them up, and got everything working again. No more blowing fuses!
I also worked on a couple of vehicles recently with some of the most worn spark plugs I’ve ever seen. The gaps were nearly double what they should have been, and there was barely any electrode material left. The silver lining? Replacing them actually made a noticeable difference in how the engines ran. As a technician, there’s something satisfying about completing a repair and immediately feeling the improvement.
Moments like these are a reminder that what we do at Luke 15 Automotive is about more than fixing vehicles. It’s about meeting people where they’re at, being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us, and looking for practical ways to help. Sometimes that means replacing parts, and sometimes it means taking the extra time to repair what can still be repaired.
