Let’s talk about graphic novels!

Graphic novels can be a great way to get your reluctant readers reading. Short, snappy dialogue interspersed with longer text and captivating images helps engage readers, and holds their attention.

Graphic novel benefits:
▪️developing and reinforcing skills such as inferencing, decoding, analyzing and comprehension
▪️demonstrates punctuation and grammar
▪️explains figurative language
▪️readers learn about emotions and context clues through the images
▪️follow plots and character development
▪️understand cause and effect
▪️learn about perspective

Many of these books come in sets, so when you find one your child likes, there are lots of options available! There are graphic novels for all reading levels, ages and interests.
