Three days. Three disciplines. Countless “aha!” moments. 💛🐴

Last week we wrapped up our Annual Precision Performance Camp, and what an incredible few days it was.

We spent three days reminding ourselves that becoming a better rider isn’t about chasing bigger jumps. It’s about building stronger foundations.

On Day 1, we slowed things down and focused on equitation. Position, balance, feel, and effectiveness. We discovered that when the rider improves, the horse has every opportunity to improve too.

Day 2 challenged everyone to think like jumper riders. Finding the right pace, planning the track, making smart decisions, and learning that the fastest round is rarely the one ridden in a hurry.

Then we finished with my favourite… our Hunter Derby Challenge. Riders learned to create beautiful, flowing rounds where rhythm, style, and partnership mattered just as much as clearing the fences.

One of the highlights of the camp was watching riders step outside their comfort zones by riding different horses. Every horse asked different questions, and every rider grew because of it. That’s where real horsemanship happens.

Between rides, we laughed, learned, supported one another, talked horses, explored leadership, and created memories that will last far longer than any ribbon.

Watching these young riders encourage each other, celebrate successes, work through challenges, and leave with more confidence than they arrived with reminded me why I love coaching.

A huge thank you to our wonderful riders for bringing your curiosity, determination, and positive attitudes every single day. You made this camp everything I had hoped it would be.

What a weekend. 💚🐴

Horse shows are never just about ribbons.

They’re about early mornings, shared snacks, cheering from the rail, celebrating the wins, learning from the mistakes, and heading home just a little better than when you arrived.

I’m so proud of Kaya & Molly, Victoria & Fritz, and Vanessa & Camden.

Each partnership showed determination, sportsmanship, and kindness throughout the weekend. Every round, every class, every challenge is another step in becoming better riders—and better horsemen.

Our horses deserve just as much recognition. They carried their riders with heart, patience, and generosity all weekend long. They truly are our greatest teachers.

A huge thank you to Paramount for hosting another wonderful show. Joe, Justine, Emily, and the entire team created such a welcoming atmosphere for riders and families. It takes an incredible amount of work behind the scenes, and we appreciate all that you do.

Thank you as well to our amazing support crew. Holly Janzen for schooling day support, cheerleader Christine Waldroff, our wonderful parents, and everyone who pitched in with helping hands, delicious lunches, snacks, encouragement, and plenty of laughs—you make weekends like this possible.

At Willow Grove, we believe horse showing is about so much more than results.

It’s about confidence.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about learning responsibility, sportsmanship, teamwork… and discovering that sometimes your biggest victory isn’t the ribbon you take home—it’s the lesson you learned along the way.

One thing they all have in common? They remind us every day how lucky we are to call Canada home.

We’re grateful for the wide-open spaces, the freedom to ride, the friendships built in the barn aisle, and a community that feels more like family.

Whether you’re spending today in the saddle, around the barbecue, or simply soaking up another beautiful Canadian summer day, we hope it’s filled with laughter, love, and a little horse (and goat!) hair.

I have loved watching your journey as a rider. The ribbons are wonderful, but it’s your commitment to growth, your willingness to keep learning, and the joy you find in the process that truly stand out.

You are also deeply loved by a wonderful family. May this next year bring many special moments with Paul, your grandchildren, and all those lucky enough to call you wife, grandma, friend, and teammate.
