Itโ€™s tradition now to take a selfie with my tiny color monster Christmas tree after I finish my last session of the year. Hereโ€™s a tired smile as I sign off for 2022, feeling grateful for all that my clients have shared and taught me. โค๏ธ

Wishing you love and light this holiday season! ๐ŸŽ„โœจ

Happy winter solstice! Hereโ€™s a little crafty pompom bat swooping in to remind us that the days get longer and brighter from here, sweet friends. โœจ๐Ÿ–คโœจ

As I wake up on this last official day of summer, I notice those mixed feelings that often accompany transitions.

My morning coffee is a grounding ritual for me - itโ€™s something consistent no matter the season of nature or life. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

In the summer, I LOVE when I have the opportunity to enjoy my morning coffee on the beach. Itโ€™s a sensory experience that I imagine and look forward to all winter and spring.

I feel sad that morning coffee on the beach is finished for 2022, and itโ€™s okay to notice and honour that feeling.

This morning Iโ€™m drinking my morning coffee inside, with a sweatshirt on, and my cat is snuggled on my lap. It reminds me that I also love crisp mornings, cozy blankets, and glimpses of the first changing colours on the leaves outside my window. I am excited for the colours, smells, and sensations of fall too.

The equinox is about balance, and itโ€™s a reminder that we can hold both. We can feel sadness and excitement, grief and joy, uncertainty and hope.

And if change feels hard, we can look for the little things (like morning coffee!) that stay the same.

Anxiety has a way of pulling us out of the present moment. It takes us back to ruminate over things that have already happened, or jumps us ahead to what might be coming next.โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ”™๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ”œโš ๏ธ

We can playfully challenge anxiety when we find ways to stay connected to the present moment. Yesterday I tried this during my walk on my lunch break - I said to myself that for 20 minutes I was going to try to just focus my attention on the path ahead, and keep my eyes open for whatever I might find. ๐Ÿ‘€ And look at the treasures that nature had in store for me! Four beautiful feathers that I found at the beginning, middle, and end of my walk. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿชถ๐Ÿฅพ
