We have heard of another tragic house fire in our community. Our sympathies go out to the family.

An inventory of your property will help you settle loss claims accurately and promptly. If you experience loss you will want to be back up and running as soon as possible. If you take to long to document your claim your insurance carrier may charge you an extension fee to keep your claim open. Avoid the fee and the headache, document your assets.

2:00 PM February 29, 2012 The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department was called to the Westend Apartments to put out a fire that had started in the manager's suite from a cooking accident. 24 suites were evacuated. We provided emergency housing for one of the residents. He had nothing. Only the clothes on his back. As the apartment building did not burn down he tried to enter the apartment, a few days later, to retrieve his stuff but he was denied access by onsite Security. He had no Contents Insurance on his personal property. The man was stressed and desperate. This man was fortunate. He was allowed access (eventually) and retrieved his property.
