Membership Perk!
Full Facility Access at Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre
McQueen Community League members now have access to the full facility at Coronation Park Sports and Recreation Centre (including the Peter Hemingway Aquatic Centre) every Saturday from 4–6 PM. Simply show your community league digital membership card upon arrival. (Note: Excludes group classes).
This program replaces our previous arrangement at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre. We know many of you took advantage of that program, and we appreciate your support as we make this switch. We're excited to bring this perk closer to home, right here in our own backyard!

We had a fantastic turnout for our Crime Free Social at McQueen Gardens!
We were joined by two beat officers from the City Police Westend precinct, who shared valuable insights on how to protect ourselves and our community.
Topics included vandalism and graffiti prevention, how to properly report a crime, and important updates on fraud—especially the latest trends affecting tenants.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our community safer and more informed!

Earlier this week, our President, Scott Seibel, spoke at Edmonton City Council regarding the challenges many multi-family properties are facing with the City of Edmonton’s new three-stream waste collection program.
While the goal of reducing waste and improving environmental outcomes is something we support, the reality is that many apartment communities—especially those built decades ago—were never designed to accommodate three large waste streams (garbage, recycling, and organics).
For many properties this has created real operational challenges, including limited space for additional bins, reduced visibility and safety concerns in parking areas, and increased strain on private property as collection trucks access sites that were not designed for this type of service. Property managers are also seeing a rise in illegal dumping, which adds additional costs and maintenance burdens.
Our goal in speaking with Council was not to oppose the environmental objectives behind the program, but to highlight the practical realities faced by multi-family housing providers and the residents who live there.
We appreciate the opportunity to bring forward these concerns and hope to work collaboratively with the City of Edmonton to find solutions that support both sustainability and the operational realities of existing multi family buildings.
