Despite its name, the Mountain Bluebird’s playground extends far beyond the mountains 🏔️ Although this species is a known wanderer, it gets its name from its tendency to nest primarily in high elevations! 🐦🪹

The results are in! 🐦❄️ Alberta’s 2025 Christmas Bird Count brought together 2,000+ volunteers who recorded 207,476 birds across 58 count circles and helped set 9 new provincial records! From prairie grasslands to backyard feeders, this year’s count highlights the continued enthusiasm and dedication of Alberta’s birding community.
