If (1) your first language is NOT english and (2) your partner speaks a mother tongue that is different from yours and (3) you have a child under 19 years of age, the following research project may be of interest to you!
The purpose of this study is to learn about how mixed language families in Alberta use their languages in daily life and participation involves an online interview via Zoom which will last 30-60 minutes.
As a small token of appreciation, participants will be offered a $10 digital gift card to be sent electronically after completion of each component of the study (interview: $10; observations: $10; survey: $10).

The made-in-Edmonton Grocery Run, led by Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op, provides 550 newcomer and refugee families (~3025 individuals) with weekly essential grocery hampers.
The Grocery Run operates in partnership with the Edmonton Food Bank, Leftovers Edmonton and CUP (Community University Partnership at the University of Alberta) to provide hampers that focus on fruits, vegetables and culturally appropriate pantry essentials.

To celebrate 20 years of the Community University Partnership (CUP), we are hosting the Issues and Impacts Series. This series engages field experts and local research partnerships in discussions of issues relevant to the wellbeing of children, youth and families. Field experts and local researchers will discuss topics such as community-based participatory research (CBPR) as a tool for policy change, models of integrated early learning and care, community-driven and culturally responsive evaluation, and international poverty elimination collaboratives.
In February 2021, we explore child care systems and quality in two presentations listed below.
