Attention international students! Important update on the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program. As of May 15, 2024, programs under a Curriculum Licensing Agreement (CLA) are no longer eligible for a PGWP. This change has significant implications for those planning to stay and work in Canada after graduation. While there are a few exceptions, they are limited. The Canadian government is proposing amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, aiming to introduce a new permanent economic class. This initiative will allow individuals with experience in TEER 4 and 5 roles to transition to permanent residency, offering them a stable future in Canada. The AAIP currently has 446 web form submissions in their pool. These submissions were received between May 23, 2024 and June 11, 2024. Submissions in this pool are reviewed for eligibility to receive an invitation. We do not expect the intake to re-open for this program until the current web form submissions are cleared out. As per the AAIP website the next batch of candidates will potentially be contacted on Aug 13 and then Sep 10, 2024 respectively.
