Ready for pre-order! Legendary is Tula Pink’s newest collection commemorating her 20th year!
It seemed fitting that this milestone should be marked with creatures of myth and legend to celebrate the things that go beyond the limitations of our reality. Legendary showcases my favorite animals of myth like the Unicorn, Pegasus, Hippocampus, Phoenix, Fairy and of course, a Dragon but a pretty one.

- Day 6 Quilty Fashion
My contribution to today’s prompt is my denim jacket. I found my inspiration on Instagram, seeing people playing with weaving fabric to make a quilt. I decided why not hack away at my jacket and see what I can do.
So, I cut the back of my coat into strips and wove some fabric I enjoy.
I have been considering taking it out and doing some kind of sashiko and boro combo. Something to ponder for a while yet.
Aside from that, I have a quilted jacket I would like to do at some point, I would love to try knitting a sweater for myself, and I have a massive giant hoodie I would like to make one day too! Seeing all the fashion shared at this year’s QuiltCon is just so fun and inspiring.

Day 3 - Machine
Well! I am by far more comfortable and confident stitching by hand. I commissioned this needlebook from a few years ago and it is still one of my must have things with my sewing stuff. I know a few of you out there have been gifted needles from this very book in a time of need!
I have a wide variety of hand needles in there from tapestry, quilting, embroidery, and appliqué. I also like to keep a few other bits and bobs at the ready in the handy pockets.
My favourite brands are John James and Tulip, though I almost exclusively use John James for my cross stitch and English paper piecing, Tulip is an insanely high quality Japanese needle that is fantastic, too.
When I do use a machine, I have this teal Janome. I don’t need anything fancy, and it’s been a good little machine for the projects I’ve made on it!

Day 2 - First Quilt
I made my first quilt at the very end of 2020 when my mom (Dorothy) gave myself and two others a private pandemic edition of her All Things Quilting. This was during a short-circuit lock down in Alberta. It was strange to be in a “class” at such a time, but having a safe cohort to create and learn together was such a needed thing in that time.
Choosing fabrics for the sampler quilt, I had the print on white for a long time and thought that would be the fabric I built the rest with. I had used a sewing machine a bit before being on wardrobe in theatre school, but not to quilt.
I learned a lot, got a little extra with corner stones and outer border, gave me more confidence on a sewing machine, and taught me things I have since used on other projects.
