Grab a table for Smoke Show, hosted by Smoke bar in Edmonton’s Ice District. Styled after a past era of extravagant and lively parties, this show is performed “in the round” with burlesque artists performing throughout the room. If you’re craving glittery costumes, cocktails, and a WILD night of gin-soaked revelry – you’ve come to the right place! A monthly show featuring some of Edmonton’s best burlesque artists.

🔥🪑 The Hot Seat (now SOLD for Oct 25 show): for $75 you can sit in the hot seat for an improv burlesque act with House of Hush performers dancing all around you. Va-voom!

💋🥂“Happy Birthday Mr. President” (1 remaining/avaiable for Oct 25 show): celebrating something special? For $35 a performer will deliver a glass of bubbles and sing to you (or your special someone).

I’ve had a lot of folks comment on my ⚡️flashback ⚡️photo of Goddessa I posted last night.

Here’s some context as to why the ⚡️flashback ⚡️came.

Goddessa was a powerful ✨collective of unique femmes artists who provided creative, all original entertainment 🎬🎤while simultaneously celebrating sisterhood, aristic & spiritual 🧘‍♂️🧘🧘‍♀️collaboration.

This troupe practiced 👯👯‍♀️👯‍♂️ , recorded 🎧 in studios, performed and even shot music videos 🎥📺 together.

It was a great honour 🤲🏽 to be together where so many moments of extraordinary vision, talent and expression were able to inspire me.

As Covid 🦠 took its course, Goddessa went inwards 🙏🏽 and the group slowly disolved (for now at least 😉.)

I was devastated with multiple layers of one trauma 😥🤬🤯😕😢😩🙁☹️😔after the other. I’ve been pretty open woth social media about the complexities I suffered through- covid 💊 depression, my dad died, I had on going feminine 🩸 medical health issues, lost a friend to su***de, had two major heart wrenching breakups 💔, moved from a seven bedroom acerage in paradise 🏡to an apartment 🏢in the ghetto, AND lost my job⚖️💸. There was more too… but you get the idea. ALL the major life stressors that can happen, DID. And they happened one after the other after the other with no breaks ❤️‍🩹

I spiralled🌀. I was totally and completely broken. I walked downtown 🛒 in the late dark hours after a screaming match with my ex where I was hoping to reconcile. I scored some fentanyl 💰💉from the streets which was uncomfortably EASY to do. I made sure I had enough to end my misery and relieve the burden on everyone I thought I had taken down with me.

I had no creative outlet. I pushed away my community 💣. I was overwhelmed with pain and loss.

What saved me was my already established connection to the sisters of Goddessa combined with the new life force 🧬🤩energy of PyroMystiques It brought together so many of the parts I was missing. Sisterhood👭, art🎨, dance💃, performance🎪🤹, community, music🎼, CREATIVITY! 🤸‍♂️🤸🏻‍♂️🤸🏼‍♂️🤸🏽‍♂️🤸🏾‍♂️

And with 🔥 FIRE 🔥 I was able to Phoenix 🐦‍🔥 my way through to surrendering the stories of the past and transmuting the rebirth of who I am becoming.

I’m writing this as a 🥹THANK YOU 🫶🏼to these two UNBELIEVABLY LIFE GIVING POWERHOISE TROUPES. Without them, I would not be the woman I am today. There’s a deep comfort in knowing I get to gather with fellow artisits to complete my life mission of creative expression. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾
