Children are participating in Indigenous studies throughout the month of June! We decided to have circle time outside and listened to the story entitled "Trudy's Healing Stone". The story discusses a way in which we can cope with difficult emotions by passing our emotions to a stone, while respecting what Mother Nature has to offer us. After circle time, the children discussed difficult feelings such as sadness and anger and provided circumstances in which they might feel these ways. They then chose a stone that was special to them to paint and make their very own. The children also participated in coloring various nature inspired Indigenous art pictures.
