Inspired by the highly sought after dessert from the famous Winkel 43 Cafe in Amsterdam, our Dutch Apple Cake is the perfect blend of pie and cake. Tart apples are baked with plump raisins, dark rum, and just the right blend of spices, and enclosed in a sweet and crumbly shortbread-like crust. We recommend serving it the traditional Dutch way with a heaping dollop of fresh whipped cream, but a scoop of Pinocchio Ice Cream would also do the trick.
