About Ziggy:

If you’ve ever dreamed of having your very own fluffy grizzly bear, Ziggy might be your perfect match! This handsome young Akita has a big personality and one irresistibly adorable crooked ear that gives him plenty of character.

Ziggy absolutely loves the outdoors and would thrive with a like-minded family. Whether it’s long walks, hiking adventures, or simply exploring nature, he’s happiest when he’s out taking in the world. He walks well on leash, but as a strong, powerful breed, he’ll do best with someone who is comfortable and confident handling a large dog.

As an Akita, Ziggy would do best with an adopter who has experience with guardian breeds or is willing to learn about their unique characteristics and breed specific needs.

While Ziggy isn’t particularly social with other dogs, he is capable of coexisting peacefully with proper introductions and management.

Ziggy does resource guard his food, so his family will need to follow simple management practices around mealtimes to help everyone stay safe and comfortable.

Because he can be uneasy around small children and has resource guarding behaviours, we’re looking for an adult-only home where Ziggy can be the only pet. Be believe he will do best in an environment where he doesn’t have to compete for resources, and can enjoy being the centre of his family’s world! 🐾

Adoption Fee: $425
Includes microchip, spay/neuter, flea & tick treatment, all vaccines, and deworming.
