CHA Alberta
June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day, is an opportunity for all Canadians to come together and celebrate with Indigenous Peoples.
Thank you for performing at CHAA’s Called to Care 2026 conference. You inspired our entire conference delegation with your melodic voice during the beautiful Cree rendition of Oh Canada and your original song, Blind Kind of Love. Thank you for your message of Indigenous hope and inspiration.

Today, we honour the strength, kindness, and guidance of fathers and father figures in our lives. Thank you for shaping generations with love and wisdom. We also celebrate the strength, compassion, and legacy of the men who continue to lead with love, whether as residents, caregivers, or cherished family members.
Happy Father’s Day from all of us at CHAA.

This June, CHAA recognizes National Indigenous History Month — a time to honour the histories, cultures, knowledge, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
At this year’s Called to Care Conference, important conversations explored what culturally safe and trauma-informed care can look like within continuing care environments. Speakers shared how reconciliation is not simply a statement, but an ongoing commitment to listening, learning, relationship-building, and meaningful action.
One conference session described reconciliation as the “braiding together” of Indigenous and organizational ways of hospitality and care — creating stronger, safer, and more compassionate environments for residents, staff, and families alike.
We are grateful for the voices, leadership, and teachings that continue to guide this work forward.
