Continuing from last weeks tip, once you have your hosting and domain name set up, the next step is to get your website set up. I prefer (and heavily recommend) using Wordpress as your system of choice. I've tried a lot of different ways of creating a website and I've found Wordpress to be far superior to anything else out there.

You can download Wordpress on their website, https://wordpress.org/

If you're not sure how to install Wordpress, I highly recommend speaking to your hosting provider, as they will likely set it up for you free of charge.

Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS — WordPress

As an extension from last week's tip, another important thing to keep in mind with your website is page load time. You should be shooting for 2 seconds or less.

Depending on what platform you use, there are many ways to help with page speed. I personally prefer Wordpress as my platform of choice and have found WP Rocket to be a great way to reduce the load time for my pages.

You can once again use one of Google's online tools to test your website. Use the following link to check your website's page speed and see what you might need to modify.
