Inspired by the Philippine Carabao Mango which was listed as the sweetest mango in the world by the 1995 edition of Guinness Book of World Records. It is named after the carabao, the national animal of the Philippines and a native Filipino breed of domesticated water buffalo.
Carabao Mango is one of the most cultivated variety of mango in the Philippines.

My family usually pairs mangoes with bagoong (shrimp paste) or salt especially when it’s still green or hilaw(not ripe). But this fruit can also be added to many dishes such as salted eggs or ensaladas.

One of the most known products of mangoes is dried mangoes from the Philippines which you can easily buy from grocery stores here in Canada.

Whether ulam, as a dessert, or as a drink… it’s a versatile fruit indeed.
