IT NETWORK ENGINEER – LEVEL 2

The IT Network Engineer will work under the supervision of the Vice President and will work with the technical team.

This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the overall well-being of clients network infrastructure
Improve the operation level of client networks and processes through project scoping and delivery
Perform proactive maintenance and system enhancements on client networks
Obtain client approval for projects
Provide both remote and on-site support to clients
May be required to go on-site with little or no notice during standard work hours
Maintain accurate documentation of client networks, resolved issues, and client information
Follow standardized operating procedures as much as possible
Participate in weekly meetings to ensure the success of the technical team
Pass at least one certification exam per year

QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience as an IT networking specialist
Strong knowledge of all things Cisco, demonstrated by multiple certifications - CCNA+
Diploma or Bachelor Degrees in a relevant area of study from accredited institutions is an asset
A combination of education, certifications, and experience will be considered
Other certifications from Microsoft, VMware and other Tier 1 vendors are an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean drivers abstract, and regular access to a reliable vehicle
People person comfortable with dealing with a wide array of people in difficult situations
Proven ability to work rapidly in high pressure situations
Exceptional demonstrated verbal and written communication ability
Passion for technology demonstrated by a desire to obtain new technical certifications
Demonstrated problem solving ability and positive attitude
Thrives in a team atmosphere
Self-starter able to work effectively with minimal supervision
