🌟 The Hidden Struggle: Olympic Depression🌟
What if the concept of Olympic depression goes beyond just feeling down after a major event? What if it’s deeply tied to the way athletes view themselves, the language they use to describe their performance, and the immense pressure to always be at their best?
In the world of elite sports, athletes are often encouraged to focus on results, perfection, and winning, especially after a major winning streak! But could this intense emphasis on physicality and performance have unintended consequences on mental health and performance?
Once the season ends, or when they don’t meet expectations, could it lead to feelings of loss, confusion, or even a sense of emptiness?
On February 28th @8:45am, Mat will be on 880 Ched to further talk about Olympic Depression in sport and performance, while continuing to share his insight and knowledge on language in sport!
Tune in! 🎧

🌟 Meet Jackson, one of the brightest stars in the Mindbuffs family! 🌟
Jackson is a current Master’s in Counselling student at Mindbuffs, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the energy, passion, and wisdom he brings to our team. His dedication to personal growth and helping others is nothing short of inspiring! 💚
With a rich background in sports and performance, he has an incredible ability to understand the mental and emotional aspects of high-pressure situations. Whether it’s working with athletes or any other individual, his empathy shine’s through 😊
“ My own winding path in art and sport has included success, confidence, progress, comradery, and views from the top. But, as with any really interesting story, it has also included injury, heartbreak, defeat, doubt, loneliness, and time in much darker places. I strongly believe that our experiences in sport and the arts play defining roles in who we are as human beings at all stages of life, and I believe that our life experiences outside of those areas influence who we are as athletes, artists, and performers, likewise”.
We’re beyond lucky to have him on our team. Keep shining, Jackson! 🌟
