Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association
As part of Volunteer Appreciation Week, we hosted a special Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) session for our volunteers, and it was such a great experience for everyone involved.
From teamwork and problem-solving to plenty of laughs along the way, it was a chance to connect in a different way and experience firsthand some of the powerful skills horses help us build through EAL 🐴
We’re so grateful for the incredible people who make our program possible, and loved getting to share this experience with them.
Interested in learning more about EAL? Contact us to learn more about our Drop-In EAL Sessions held every Thursday at 11:30am!

What makes a great therapy horse? 🐴
It’s not speed or skill. It’s patience.
It’s the horse who stands quietly while a rider finds their balance.
The one who takes slow, steady steps when needed.
The one who seems to understand exactly what their rider needs that day.
Therapy horses are chosen and trained for their calm nature, gentle spirit, and ability to connect with people in a truly special way.
They may not know the difference they’re making… but we see it every day. 💛
