A Christmas fire dalmation, pre-paint job and awaiting installation of its back legs, and just prior to earning its spots🐶

Production of this piece, made from two salvaged spikes from the Canadian National Railway, was so accelerated that a photo of the finished product was unobtainable as it flew out the door wrapped in Christmas paper, on its way to its new home🎁

The sunny weather has brought the speeder out of its shed and it's getting warmed up for summer journeys along the short line🚂

Railyards of yesteryear were never complete without elevated water towers to keep the locomotives steamed up and ready to chuff off to their next destination🚂

This 16 foot tower was created from heavy creosoted yellow cedar timbers salvaged long ago from Youbou Mill at Cowichan Lake🪚
Topped with a recycled steel tank and a water spout with apparent steam-era provenance out of Mesachie, and a water meter from a defunct former water tower which used to exist nearby, it's created from 100% recycled and mostly historical material!

All of these materials have been accumulated over the years with this project in mind and last Saturday it was finally declared complete🥳

Any iron horses in need of water may stop here🚂

Next project's almost finished too so stay tuned!🔨
