Many dogs struggle with leash greetings — pulling, lunging, vocalizing, or losing focus — even if they’ve spent lots of time in dog daycare.
That’s because daycare doesn’t actually teach dogs how to greet politely on leash. Most dogs learn to rush in, ignore their handler, and rely on other dogs to regulate the interaction. Those skills don’t translate well to real-world walks.
In my training programs, I teach dogs and their owners how to properly give a clear “Go Say Hi” cue — a permission-based greeting that builds calm, controlled social skills.
This approach helps dogs learn:

• how to disengage without frustration
• how to stay connected to their handler
