Comox Community Bat Program
11/28/2025
Report dead bats and winter bat activity to the BC Community Bat Program. 🦇
👉Help us monitor for White-nose Syndrome. This is a disease that has not been found in BC bats yet, but has been found just across the border in Washington and in Alberta.
👉White-nose Syndrome is caused by a fungus that attacks the bats while they are in hibernation. It grows on their skin and wings thus giving the appearance of a white nose. Some species are highly susceptible to it and die.
👉 It does not affect other wildlife, pets or people.
😃Please report dead bats to www.bcbats.ca, call 1-855-922-2287, or email [email protected]. Remember to never touch a bat with bare hands. Call for further information.☝️
