Here's something exciting to kick-off the weekend! Our license application to take part in the global theatre initiative, 'All Together Now' has been approved!

We're looking forward to staging our performance of this AMAZING production, and representing CK in this global celebration of live theatre! 🤩

We'll be keeping an eye on the reopening plans for live theatre, but we're ready to be nimble and adaptable so that our awesome students, teachers and friends can once again experience the complete JOY of preparing for a performance!

We're looking forward to November 2021! Get ready - next season is going to be a BIG ONE!

Put your hands together for Week 3 of with Stacie Dengel!

My most memorable role was definitely my most recent production in which I was cast as Audrey II in The Little Shop of Horrors, produced by Studio Black.

I firmly believe, I will never get an opportunity like this again. The part of Audrey II is almost always played by a male actor/singer. In my audition, I knew that it would be a stretch and although I went in singing for one of the female leads, I made sure to mention that I would like to be considered for Audrey II, if the creative team was open to the idea of a female actress/singer.

When I was given a call back for the role, I was excited and terrified. I practiced harder for this callback than any other before because I knew it required me to sing and perform in a way I had never done before and I needed to let the creative team know that they could take a chance on me! When I showed up for the callback, it was no surprise that is was a room full of talented men and…me. The hard work paid off and it was the best feeling ever!

This was my opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and show people that I could do more than sing sweetly. I had so much fun experimenting with my voice and tapping into a range and quality, even I didn’t know I had. Hearing the audience’ reaction to the fact that it was a female playing the role made it that much sweeter.
