Environment Canada has issued an orange alert due to extreme heat. The extreme heat is expected to last until Friday, July 3rd, and possibly into Saturday, July 4th, with forecasted temperatures that may reach as high as 36°C.
The Carleton Place Arena (75 Neelin Street) will be open from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. as a cooling centre on Canada Day.
The Library will be closed on Canada Day, but will reopen with regular business hours on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and can be used as a cooling centre.
Lifeguards will be on duty at Riverside Park and Centennial beaches from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Water quality is tested by Southeast Public Health. All patrons must respect closure signage. The river current could be stronger than expected. Parents/Caregivers—Keep non-swimmers within arm's reach at all times.

The Carambeck Community Centre Splash Pad is located at 359 Bridge Street.
The Dunlop Road Park Splash Pad is located at 31 Dunlop Road.
The Miller’s Crossing Splash Pad is located at 56 Fanning Street.
