SKIN RNI
Your skin is the master communicator of your overall health and wellness. The language of your skin is “symptom” and when your skin is showing symptoms rather than cover up what we don’t like to see we should be asking ourselves “what is going on in the rest of the body ?”
My beautiful client “Emily” came to me with persistent adult acne that would not resolve with medication, products or skin treatments.
I explained to Emily that her skin was not the enemy, but in fact was screaming “symptom” and in this case the symptom of acne was an underlying gut disorder.
A Three Month Gut Reset was all that it took to completely clear up Emily’s skin!
Not only did Emily’s skin clear up but she regained her energy, improved her cognitive focus, improved the quality of her sleep and overall health and wellbeing.
Congratulations Emily on your commitment to improving your health - your skin looks amazing!

The skin care industry capitalizes on 8 billion dollars annually of products making claims that are completely scientifically unsupported. Your skin is an organ and healing and rejuvenating this organ must always be based on Science.
As a Scientist let me debunk some of the worst practices I see today for products that claim to rejuvenate the skin but actually make the skin worse and in some cases damage the skin.
#1. Beef Tallow - the worst practice going right now that claims to hydrate the skin by coating your skin with beef fat. Anyone following this practice will soon find the stratum corneum (your skin’s dead layer) getting thicker. This also impedes proper cellular turnover and leads to dry dull skin .
You may as-well put Saran Wrap all over your face!
2. Layering too many products on your skin only benefits the skin care companies. In this situation most of the products just end up on the surface of the skin. Scientifically also, certain molecules mixed with others counteract their effects. For example L-ascorbic acid and retinol.
3. Natural Retinol is an oxymoron. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A which is natural as well as essential. Our bodies do not make Vitamin A so we need to get this in our diet. For the skin we can use various forms such as retinol, but retinol is natural.
4. Prescription retinol is retinoic acid which is an extremely active form of vitamin A but also a very reactive form of Vitamin A
Many people tell me they can use it only one day a week or their skin gets red and flaky.
The half life of vitamin A is 20 hours so using prescription retinol means your skin goes without Vitamin A most of the time completely defeating the benefit.
5. Moisturizer occludes the skin and we are back to the same effect as beef tallow. A light weight emulsion that is glycerin based is fine but the heavy moisturizers rich in shea butter will eventually just dry your skin out.
#1 ingredient for skin hydration is a proper daily dose of vitamin A in your care routine.
6. Only molecules of a certain size pe*****te the skin
