January can be a long month… We start off the new year with such pizazz and ambition but then reality sinks in and the truth is… Life isn’t a montage. Where every step is getting closer and the background music never skips a beat… Even the best plans with the highest hopes and purest intentions can go awry , and that’s alright. It’s a good lesson in perseverance. If that didn’t work, or didn’t quite feel right… there’s another way. There always is…

In the thick of winter patience truly is a virtue. Everything moves slower. As if time itself were frozen. Waiting to thaw out in the spring. And shake off the dreams of its slumber.. ❄️🤍

Not every day is a good day. And that’s ok.

Some days you feel the weight of the world.. The pressure of the system .. and its insatiable expectations. You feel sorrow, deep and old or bright and new … or you feel a sorrow that doesn’t have a clear or defined source .. maybe it’s not even your own. But someone else’s neglected pain … A cold drift in the wind. A hollowness in the heart. A longing, for that place you’ve never been.

Today.. I’m feeling heavy, sad and cold! And even though I am alone .. I know that I’m not alone in feeling this way..

I have so much to be thankful for ,

sadness… the blues .. is part of life. .
And I’m happy to be alive ! 💙❄️

I’m getting settled into my new home for the next chapter here at The JPL in Jasper..

I am so grateful to be here! Singing my songs , and writing some new ones, slowing down and getting into some good morning routines ..

My parents worked here , almost 40 years ago, when I was just a twinkle in their eyes. Imagining them walking in the same halls, down the same streets and ice skating on the same frozen lakes ; is truly something special 🤍

I’m feeling pretty darn grateful for 2023! What a year that was.. I’m a little late on the old annual write up.. I’ve been busy! Turning the page. Remembering the gems, letting go of doubts and setting intentions for The New Year ✨
