(with overwhelming enthusiasm) we are welcoming to the Elevation Gallery roster, Hamilton based painter Vick Naresh. Superimposing organic imagery on pattern, metaphor on reckoning, and modernity on nostalgia, Vick hones his voice through the act of painting. Hinting at his lived experience within the rich color and pattern, the artist shares the implication of time and place while leaving room for the viewer to filter their own experiences into the work. With early career artists, we tend to encourage painting in series for awhile: filling out a concept and honing skills through refining ex*****on of an idea.
