Less than 6 years ago I was 140lbs (3rd picture), and at the beginning of March 2024 I capped out at almost 197lbs. It's been quite the journey and I'm more excited than ever to continue improving myself physically and mentally.
I didn't do a great job at photo documenting but there is an almost 10lb difference between the first and second photo, and in total I lost about 14lbs in about 9 weeks. You can see the steady drop in the last photo. This is how long safe and effective weight loss should look. THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES; if someone out there is promising you 6 weeks to 6 pack abs they are blatantly lying to you.
I am stopped my cut because I actually lost weight too quickly. I stopped tracking the last 3-4 weeks and was actually under eating, going from 1lb of weight loss per week to about 2lbs per week which is too fast in my opinion and I don't want to risk losing muscle. Now we enter a summer of "gaintaining".
I will talk more about what I felt I needed to sacrifice and what I didn't in order to lose weight but overall I didn't feel that restricted. Yes I counted calories, but I still occasionally had fried chicken, burgers, and candy. I worked out 4-5 days a week, but in general I've been pretty consistent with that for the last 2-3 years so that didn't really change much. I mainly watched what I ate, focused on getting enough protein, and worked out effectively.

I finally finished this behemoth of a book and it was amazing! This is definitely a new favourite of mine and I am fully ready to dive deep into the world of Ayn Rand and read all her books and essays.
This is easily the biggest book I've ever read at 1,069 (nice) pages, and although it was intimidating especially at the beginning, it was very engaging the whole way through. Ayn Rand does a great job at making you actually care about the characters and you really root for the heroes. All the main characters are thoroughly fleshed out and there are some pretty slimy villainous characters; I don't think I've ever seen a more contemptible character than James Taggart.
This book is a fantastic way to learn about the positives of capitalism and why socialism and communism are ultimately doomed to fail. It is interspersed with very clear philosophical ideas and I highlighted so many passages in this book. There are also so many examples of beautifully written prose as well.
