Big news in real estate this week. The Real Brokerage is acquiring RE/MAX in an $880M deal. The combined company called Real REMAX Group will have over 180,000 agents worldwide. It's expected to close later this year.

Here's what that actually means.

For me as your agent: The industry is consolidating fast. Big tech-driven platforms are absorbing legacy brands. That's a business story. My job, showing up, knowing the local market, and guiding you through one of the biggest decisions of your life doesn't change based on whose logo is on a business card.

For you: Mergers like this are about shareholder value, not better service to buyers and sellers. What protects you isn't the brand behind your agent. It's choosing someone with real local knowledge, a clear process, and a track record of looking out for their clients. The brand is just the sign on the door.

In a market going through this much change, the relationship you have with your agent matters more than ever, not less.
