Are you thinking enough about accessibility when planning your events?

For many people, attending an event involves planning that most people never think about. Transportation, washrooms, entrances, seating, lighting, sound, energy levels, support workers, backup plans.

Comfort (or discomfort) around these things can determine whether they decide to come at all.

Accessibility isn't a checklist item to add after the details are set, it needs to be a design decision that shapes who gets to be in the room.

For non-profit organizations hosting galas, community events, or fundraising gatherings, this matters in a deep way. The people you serve deserve to be in those spaces. So do your donors, your volunteers, and your community.
