Well done to the project teams!

Over this past winter season, a 12" diameter pipeline was installed in order to expand the drinking water supply to a First Nations community in Alberta, Canada.

This pipeline was installed using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD). Crews drilled approximately 1,200m from land and exited at lake bottom, ultimately installing an intake structure which will feed a new raw water treatment plant.

The pipeline drag sections (457mm Steel and 324mm HDPE) were fabricated on a frozen lake ice platform and pulled back through the HDD borehole from the ice platform to land at the raw water treatment plant site.
