Meet Darren , owner and founder of HighWire tattoo.
Born in Calgary and later moving around Canada a bit in his youth Darren eventually planted roots back in Calgary.
Having been exposed to tattoo culture fairly early in life, harnessing a keen eye and creative perspective, the interest in tattooing was seeded and spawned from there.
The curiosity and yearning to learn and immerse himself only grew, eventually having a part in building up/ working for a local street shop in his late teens.
Diving into what was a fairly small community within the city at the time, Darren worked hard and stayed sharp when it came to versatility in tattoo applications, exploring a vast amount of styles and technical aspects, and after over 26 years of perseverance those attributes can be seen in his approach and dedication.
Ready to take on pretty well most projects that walk through the shop doors, Darren also has an astute and educated interest in Japanese traditional applications.
When Darren isn’t putting in work at the shop he enjoys spending time with his beloved dog out in the wilderness.

Meet Josh , HighWire’s newest addition to the team!
Getting his start out on the west coast, Josh has found himself grounded in Alberta.
With over 9 years experience he is a well rounded artist with stylistic leanings towards black n grey illustrative realism, but is willing and capable of taking on a vast array of styles and applications.
In his down time you can find Josh on the links enjoying a game of golf or spending time with his family and friends.
