hi, i’m Sonja!! wanted to do a little intro post.. an about me if you will.. i was born on Christmas Day 1991 in Spokane, WA and a lot of stuff has happened since then!! i’ve been writing and singing songs since my first memories of being alive. i’ve always seen the Wonder in things and also the Darkness and until recently i was afraid of the dark stuff but now i see how the two are inseparable. i have 2 poetry collections and a third on the way (very soon)!! i can’t wait to show you the next book! in my thirties i’ve found myself returning to the things i loved as a child. i spent most of my twenties traveling the world and living in other countries and i’m trying to get back to that now. nothing excites me more than seeing animals in the wild!! i have a bucket list for that, hyenas are next on it. i currently live in Calgary & work in a restaurant & i hope to become a full time poet/artist. the desire for it consumes me!! i have no backup plan because it’s the only thing i want. some of my favourite artists and writers are David Bowie, Margaret Atwood, Billie Eilish, Ada Limon, Sofia Isella, Bob Dylan, Salvador Dali, Mitski, Bo Burnham, Phoebe Bridgers, Leonard Cohen, Blink 182… there are so many more but that’s a few!! my fav cuisines are Vietnamese & Thai & Japanese. i’m really good at making Thai curry!! i have 2 big fluffy dogs with my partner and a massive trinket collection and piles of books and records! i hold all the people / animals / objects in my life dearly. it is all so sacred. thanks for being here and reading my words, i hope wonder finds you today 🧚
