Congratulations to emerging violinist Josephine Wen, recipient of the 2026/2027 Marley Rynd Scholarship. Wen is a student of Calgary Phil First Violin Maria van der Sloot and a recent graduate of the Academy and Advanced Performance Programs at the Mount Royal University Conservatory. She went on to receive consecutive leadership roles with the Calgary Youth Orchestra (CYO), serving as Principal Second Violin for the 2022/2023 Season and as Concertmaster from 2024 through 2026. ChamberFest West’s fifth annual festival starts this Tuesday with a free outdoor concert at cSPACE Marda Loop. The festival is co-directed by the Calgary Phil's Concertmaster Diana Cohen and features several musicians from the Orchestra!
