🚨 Public Service Announcement for all Gallardo 5.0 owners 🚨
This is one of the biggest reasons the even fire 5.0 Gallardos got a bad reputation.
The factory catalytic converters simply didn’t hold up. We’ve seen them fail surprisingly early sometimes in well under 20,000k and once the catalyst starts breaking apart, you’re asking for trouble.
This 2006 came into the shop with the driver’s side cat already coming apart internally. We replaced both with 300 cell high flow catalytic converters before they could become a problem.
If you own an even-fire 5.0 Gallardo and you’re still running the original cats, have them inspected. It could be one of the smartest preventative maintenance jobs you do.
Sometimes it’s not the engine that earned the reputation… it’s the parts bolted onto it.

Speed / power is cheap now a days making the sound of an engine carry a lot of the weight of how we value a car..

The even fire 5.0 from Lamborghini in the 2000s can do a lot of heavy lifting in the sound department!
