From participant to speaker! 💙

Not too long ago, . Hijab I Zehra was part of CCIS’ Skills Elevate program, building skills, exploring school and career options, and preparing for the workplace.

This time, she came back in a different role, standing in front of 25 youth as a guest speaker for our Peer Support Circle. Someone who once came for support is now giving it!

Her journey is a great reminder of how things can grow step by step. She started working at a grocery store, then applied internally for a marketing role and got it after three rounds of interviews (yes, three!).

A few of her tips for youth:
• Make yourself memorable
• Ask questions, it’s always better than guessing
• Look into credential evaluations if you’re planning more education
• Don’t let money stop you, there are bursaries and loans out there

We’re so proud to see this full-circle moment. This is exactly what it’s all about. 💙
