TEAMS || PLAYERS || TEAM PLAYERS

If you have been reading from me, you will know I hate to follow jargons and power phrases, catch phrases, "motivational coaches".

Be a team player is not new to the world of all (employers, employees, leaders, followers, business owners, managers, just name them), however, I feel there is some forced elements in there that sometimes, does not consider fundamental elements of the individuals on our teams. The distinction between Teams, Players and Team Players are mostly dismissed when hiring and pairing individuals for assignments. Before I go in, a few definitions;
1. Team: A group of people (players) coming together to achieve a goal
2. Players: Individuals with set skills and varied competencies
3. Team players: Group of players who actually understand what the goal is and meets the team dynamics on all fronts (technically, logically, emotionally, academically, and so forth...)

One thing I am particularly peculiar about is an individual's personality and potential contribution to a team. You cannot put an introvert on a client facing team and not expect a draw/push back sooner or later just like you cannot put a striker in the position of a midfielder in the game of soccer.

Teams, team goals and objectives are defined and specific , players are not as players are individuals who come with, aside their knowledge and technical expertise, their personalities and individual believes and strengths; key to identifying and placing them accordingly is key.

PS: Team work is amazing as it promotes cross board learning, support and growth

PSS: Not every player has to be on "any team". Players are allowed to be/formed a "team within a team"

PSSS: Not getting these right will leave everyone in the equation (leader/manager, staff, clients, customers, stakeholders) feeling like the cute dog under this post....hahahahahhaaahahah
