Rec'd by messenger: Found just now. brightly colored bird. Obviously a pet. Whitehorn area. It’s green on the bottom and has a little kiss of blue on the cheek- I think it’s a budgie. The bird is resting comfortably in a box with some water in a quiet space. Text me 403-862-1188.

I mentioned in my other post what a s**tty weekend it had been...series of events just kept coming and coming.

Baby the goffin decided to continue ripping at her feathers - I made the decision to make a collar for her - while getting the items together - Bman decided to rip out a second tail feather - the one he pulled was a blood feather - about 1 inch in length - he than snapped the one beside it in two - we all know what happened next - blood splatter everywhere. I got most of the blood off but some got stuck to his feathers so it looks worse than it is.
The hormones for the toos seem to be in high drive this year - Mantra the cockatoo is also going to be getting a collar - she had half her growth back - laid an egg and began chewing again :( not long after I removed the egg - I left it as long as I could but they do get rancid after some time and have to be tossed.

While dealing with this - I got 3 calls for birds that need to be surrendered - one will be going on the website - the other 2 will be rehomed via one of our applicants and the other 2 will be arriving this sunday.

And the finale that tore my heart out - was a message from or adopter that her beloved "Popeye" had passed away - I'm sure you all remember her - she was pretty popular on Instagram (which has been taken down)and stole the hearts of many many people - including mine. I'm still in shock about it and my heart aches for her adoptive family - they loved her more than you can imagine and gave her the very best years of her life for the time they had her.

It felt like so much in literally a matter of hours and I spent most of the afternoon crying/sobbing and it took a few days for me to get my s**t back together.

So that in a nutshell has been my crappy weekend update. Heres a couple pics of bman and the beautiful "Popeye"...forever free
