Grief is a strange beast.

Just when you think it’s sleeping, it rouses again - reminding you of what matters.

It’s not about the gourmet cup of coffee you bought, but who you sipped it with.

It’s not about the epic adventure you had, but who you made memories with.

It’s not about the business you built, but who was in the trenches with you.

It’s not about the awards you won, but who you celebrated with.

It’s not about the game you won, but who you played it with.

The time your people give you?

They will never get it back.
Remember to treasure it.

If there’s one thing that I most admire about my clients, it’s that every single one of them is guided by these kinds of questions:

What is possible in my life?
Where do I want to go next?
How do I need to grow to get there?

They live with a spirit of optimism and a growth mindset.

They celebrate their agency, resilience and commitment to joy.

I’m wildly grateful that I get to hang with remarkable folks like this.

So if you need a dose of that golden goodness flowing in my clients’ veins, here’s a reminder for you today:

No matter what’s happening around you, your life is still full of possibilities.

FULL.

Despite childhood hard stuff or career setbacks or broken hearts, there’s so much you can still be and do.

I know that uncertainty, and the shocking and painful realities of being human can feel overwhelming at times.

That’s natural.Ā
(take a deep breath with me)

But I promise: you have not been assigned a destiny that you have no say in.

You don’t have to wait for your industry, your partner, your kids, your boss, your friends, or your local politicians to tell you what’s possible for your life.

You can still make a big change, or reignite an area of your life with fresh passion and ingenuity.

You can create (and share) more joy, more love, more beauty.

It’s not too late.
You are not ā€˜over’.

This is why I think it’s so important to schedule time to design lives we love; to ask ourselves big questions like:

šŸ’› What matters most, and how can I bring that to life?

I take myself through a handful of conscious life design processes every year.

I use them for my personal life, my romantic life, and my business so each part of my world is aligned and set up to Thrive.Ā

It’s space to exhale fully, and to get present enough to hear my heart, to admit what’s ready to be released, and what I want to receive and experience next.

It’s a time to remind myself that life’s surprises will inevitably come, but alongside those unexpected arrivals, we also have the magical gift of creation.Ā

More than any other practice, taking time to heal the past, love the present and light up the future, has helped me build a life I am delighted to wake up to.

The medicine lives in you.

It took me a long time to figure this out.

A few thousand books.
A few dozen trainings.

I gathered a lot of knowledge.
But, the true wisdom was found within.

Yes, it’s helpful to have guides, coaches, mentors.
Yes, there are tools that are useful to use.

But, if you feel a desperation, a graspy-ness to find the answer.

Perhaps, it’s time to go within?

I see people everyday, heal deep trauma, break unhealthy loops, shed dysfunctional patterns.

Often, they thank me for being ā€œthe oneā€ to get them find the healing they were seeking.

Truth is, one of the hardest lessons I had to learn in this work is that it’s not up to me, whether someone heals or doesn’t.

I can offer new heartsets.
I can support more helpful mindsets.
I can encourage the development of new skillsets.

I can create the safe container to transform in, provide new identities to practice,

But, I can’t do the work for them.

The truest medicine I know isn’t a pill, a tea, a crystal, a framework.

It’s the courage we call on to commit to the changes that will transform our lives, for the good.

It’s the willingness to embrace the lessons in the integration.

I’ve always been in awe of what we are capable of, when we commit to being who we want to be.

Today, as I celebrated with a client, it became another one of those awe-days.
