This is how I pick up my thumb gusset stitches using double pointed needles. Using a hollow cord, these can easily fit on a needle tip for fast pick up. I use this method for all my mitten thumbs. 👍🏼

This is a simple Mitten & Toque design using worsted weight yarn and a simple maple leaf motif on the front and back side of the mitten. Using the same colours gives you that vintage Canadian feel. Inspired by all good things Canadian I wanted to knit something you could wear to the hockey game, Olympics or a camp out on Canada Day. Knit one up for loved ones for Christmas or birthday or a souvenir for that distant relative. Happy Knitting!
