I can remember taking the kids to school for the first day of kindergarten. Worried if they will be scared, make friends, love their teacher…all the feels.

I know today that:
Teachers genuinely love their students. When my kids leave the safety of my arms each day, and I hand them over to their teachers, I know they will be loved and protected. I know they will learn and grow. They will grow their strengths and be pushed to explore their weaknesses. They learn confidence and adapting to change. They learn coping mechanisms and good habits that will help them for life. They are shaped into life long learners that will forever seek knowledge and truth. They will become amazing athletes, musicians and artists. They learn diversity and inclusion. They will become future leaders, inventors and entrepreneurs.

At school, they are Happy. Strong. Loved. Learning. And this is all because of amazing teachers. So today, on World Teacher Day, I thank each and every teacher. Past, present and future. It’s not an easy job, and pay is soo below what you are tasked with each and everyday you enter your classroom.

Thank you for guiding our children, for teaching, for showing up, for providing a safe place. For loving and protecting. For teaching and inspiring. Thank you for everything you do!!

I told myself I was going to slow down. Started an office job this summer, and taking over the position full time this fall. Wanted more family time, more me time…….

And then I saw a squirrel, and her name is Creat-ique 😉 (How can I say no when it’s a hop skip and a jump away??)

I’d like to introduce to you Okotoks’ newest crafters market space…CREAT-IQUE…and I am so excited to be a vendor here!! The owner is an incredible woman, with an amazing passion for small business. She’s a go getter, a hardworker, and I just know Creat-ique is going to be AH-MAZING!!
