The closed highways are slowly opening however there are still a couple of options left to bike on pavement in the mountains before the vehicles are back!

Here are a few updates:

- Highwood Pass. The snow is slowly melting away but rumours are you’ll encounter the white stuff shortly after Elbow Lake. Opening June 14, 2024.

- Moraine Lake. Plans are to tackle this trek late next week pending conditions. Snow still covers the last portion of the access road. Opening June 1, 2024.

- Bow Valley Parkway. Join RadMums on June 13th for ‘Nacho-average Bike Ride’. We’ll be completing the East section in and out from Banff then grabbing nachos after. Opening June 25, 2024.

Thanks to Karen for sharing these great pics from yesterday’s ride at Sheep River 🚴🏻‍♀️ This meet up is part of a “mid-week, medium-core” series organized by the fabulous to road bike the closed highways before they open in May.

If you didn’t already know, you can ride the Sheep River Road to Sheep River Falls until the highway opens on May 14. It’s a 30 km ride, in and out, with relatively little elevation gain. For more details check out Karen‘s post - we’ll post a link in the stories!

Please remember that conditions vary on closed highways and that you may loose cell service. Plan accordingly and remember to leave no trace 💚
