We’re pleased to announce a $5M gift to women’s cardiovascular health in Calgary!
This generous donation from Harold and Betty Allsopp means more women in Southern Alberta will have access to specialized cardiovascular care through the new Harold and Betty Allsopp Women’s Cardiovascular Health Clinic.
The overarching goal of the clinic is to save more women’s lives through prevention, improved diagnosis, early intervention, and effective, coordinated treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
This donation came to Calgary Health Foundation through Calgary Foundation, which acted as the bridge between the donors and the charitable opportunity.
We’re immensely grateful to Harold and Betty for endorsing this specialized clinic with such a meaningful investment.

In Canada, healthcare is publicly funded. But innovation moves fast.
From state-of-the-art equipment to groundbreaking technology and ultra-minimally invasive procedures, the next advancement in care is always just around the corner.
Philanthropic support helps bring these innovations to Calgary sooner - giving patients and physicians access to the very best, faster than would otherwise be possible.
Because philanthropy doesn’t just support healthcare. It helps define excellence in healthcare. And every donor plays a role in making the best possible care available to our community.

Led by Dr. François Bernier, the PreventGene team is conducting a groundbreaking pilot project designed to expand access to genetic testing.
This testing has the potential to offer better outcomes in women’s health (breast cancer), cardiovascular health (including aneurysms and heart disease), and mental health.
Their commitment to innovation and disease prevention is what makes this team our Heroes in Health!
Heroes in Health is an initiative that gives grateful patients and families a way to make a donation and say thank you for extraordinary care.
