This painting was created by my close friend of more than 35 years, Amraj Boyal, whose talent has always been unmistakable. This piece is a powerful reflection of that ability and a reminder of the level of work he continues to produce.

This past week, the Sikh community celebrated Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab, honouring the founder of the Sikh faith and his message of sacha sauda, the true business of serving others.

More than 35 years ago, Baldev M***a Ji began the journey of service by founding Punjabi Community Health Services, building a model of care rooted in compassion and humanity. Today, PCHS Calgary continues that vision through free mental health support and community programs that uplift and heal.

Hosting the Fireside with Baldev M***a Ji and PCHS Calgary was a meaningful way to carry forward that same spirit of compassion and community care.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Diwali with our colleagues and peers from the legal community.

Diwali reminds us to celebrate light, kindness, and connection, and to carry that spirit of positivity into everything we do.

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools and honour the resilience of Indigenous communities.

As part of our learning, we recommend I Am Not a Number by Jenny Kay Dupuis and Kathy Kacer, and On the Trapline by David A. Robertson. These important books share powerful stories that encourage reflection, understanding, and meaningful dialogue.
