This Valentine’s Day, The Honest Collective is celebrating ‘Seasons of Love’!!

We are beyond excited to finally share the incredible artists who will bring RENT to life on stage! A huge thank you to everyone who auditioned—not only for your time and talent but for your patience as we took the time needed to assemble this cast.

The level of artistry we saw made this an incredibly difficult decision, and we are so grateful to each of you for being part of this journey.

The Honest Collective had an incredible first day of our in person auditions today in Calgary and were blown away by the talent we saw! We can't wait to see all the artists on Monday, January 6th for our next round of auditions!!

There are still a few spots up for grabs on Monday, as well as video submissions that we will be accepting until end of day January 6th.

The Honest Collective is a semi-professional theatre company that thrives in the unique space between community and professional theatre. We are dedicated to fostering artistic growth and collaboration among both emerging and established artists. For this show, all artists will be paid a small honorarium and participate in the show’s profit-share.

📢 RENT Audition Info is Here!

We know you’ve been eagerly waiting for details, thanks to everyone for your patience! Auditions for RENT will take place either by the end of this year or in early January 2025! Exact dates and location will be announced soon. In the meantime, here’s everything you need to prepare:

Audition Requirements:

Please prepare the following:
- A 90-second song from the Musical Theatre canon.
- A 90-second monologue in any genre.
- A second 90-second song, either a contrasting Musical Theatre piece or a Pop/Rock song, in case we’d like to hear more.

We ask that you not go over the times listed above so that we can be respectful of all the auditioners’ time.
You will have the option of hooking up a device (phone, laptop, tablet, etc) to an auxiliary cord or connecting to Bluetooth for your backing track. Adapters will be provided for Apple and USB-C devices.
Having a backing track is preferred, but if this is not doable, you may sing acapella.
Please note that you may be asked to do some pitch-matching exercises in the room if you choose this option.

📹 Video Auditions:

Can’t make it in person? No problem! Though we love to see people in person, we understand that it may present a barrier for some. If this is the case for you, we can accept video auditions with the same requirements as above. - Full instructions to come!
