Have you noticed our lamppost banners in Calgary Chinatown? Yes, they are the Pandas!

The installation of lamppost banners is a part of our on-going effort in Chinatown to improve patron experience so that they enjoy every visit. The current Panda banners have endured the wear-and-tear over the last three years.

Thus, it is time to install a new edition. Coming up on November 8, CBIA will announce a new Lamppost Banner Design Contest with details. Your design entry could be featured on our lampposts and to be seen by thousands of patrons in Chinatown.

Including Calgary Chinatown, city-wide BIAs (Business Improvement Areas) are working collaboratively to help the city's small businesses survive the COVID-19 downturn.

Alberta's Stage 1 Relaunch for Calgary including Chinatown. Some retail will open up for customers while we wait for May 25 opening for in-store dining at our many restaurants. The list of merchant openings can be found at www.VisitCalgaryChinatown.com/merchants-in-chinatown.

Be sure to help merchants by ordering takeout or delivery. Many had planned to open May 14 and bought food to serve but must now wait until May 25.
