Today, Alberta’s government announced that we will be taking the first steps toward building a new oil pipeline to the West Coast.

Using the technical advice of major pipeline companies and with Indigenous participation, the province will begin engagement with Alberta and BC Indigenous communities, develop a proposal, and submit a formal application for a project of national significance to the Federal Major Projects Office.

This project will strengthen Canada’s economy, open new export markets, create Indigenous ownership opportunities in Alberta and British Columbia, and advance Canada’s national interest.
