We are very proud of your Malcolm but most importantly we are so lucky to have you helping out our residents. We thank you and all volunteers for all that you do each day at Cedars Villa. ❤️

“You get out of it what you put into it,” says Malcolm, a long-time volunteer at Extendicare Cedars Villa in Calgary. “If you like conversation and helping people, this is the job for you. I never regret a day of being here.”

Malcolm’s wife, Julie, had been a Cedars Villa resident for three years. After she passed away, he says he found purpose in giving back to the community that supported them. His presence now brings comfort, kindness, and connection to everyone he meets.

Six days a week, Malcolm escorts residents to meals and activities. “I’m just here to make their day a little better,” he says. “Sometimes I just say funny things to make them smile or laugh.” 💙
